Recession and US workers working more for less

While McCain originally went against the Bush tax cuts to the super rich and to the corporations who gave away 5 million jobs he now supports them. McCain recently said while campaigning for the Michigan Primary(which he no doubtfully lost due to these kind of statements) said our jobs are gone and we should get it over it. No you get the F over it!! We already had a Republican president for the last 7-8 years with this kind of regard for the American worker that we don’t need another 8 years of it!!

Now some genius peeps up and says Clinton signed NAFTA like we didn’t know this. However NAFTA was 24 years ago and can easily be dealt with now. These free trade agreements are a knife in the American way of life’s back! Republicans are not the working person friend.

While G.W. Bush continues to give tax breaks to rich American corporations who out source our high paying manufacturing jobs there were always burger flipping jobs and cashier jobs to provide for a robust US economy and to keep us going. You know those minimum wage jobs that G.W. Bush likes to include when he is spouting the economic growth under his failed administration. Well guess what that sector of the economy isn’t do so hot either. Could it be the manufacturing sector who have lost million and millions of jobs can no longer afford to eat at Burger King? January 17,000 is in the hole for job creations the worst in 4 years. Thank you G.W. Bush the recession creator.

Dow was trying to make a come back but already this week we are nearing a 400 point loss. Hang on tight folks!

While in chat we got to talking about every thing under the sun being made in China. I do mean every thing. I said we really shouldn’t be the United State of America any more and should be New China. Then some one said Nu China or Chin. I then came up with United Nu Chin. I mean if every thing is going to be made in China our country might as well reflect this way of life and what better way than to call ourselves United Nu Chin. The Red White and Blue will be replaced with a red flag with 50 yellow stars. United Nu Jap could work too. Have a big red sun shooting out 50 red stars.

kid Rock was at the North American Auto International Auto Show pimping his home city, state and country with a Message to buy Detroit Made, Michigan Made and USA Made. Where are the other big Michigan celebrities any ways? Madonna is in the UK, Alice Cooper is out in Arizona with investments(supporting G.W. Bush none the less), Ted Nugent is in Texas hob nobbing with the republicans down there and Bob Seger is doing nothing.

What is happening to the rice rides? 2007 it was the Saturn Aura and now here it is 2008 and the Chevy Malibu wins the North American Car of the Year? F*ck your rice ride Honda Accord~ It is too bad the Buick Enclave didn’t take the truck category as well because it really would have deserved it. I think a new era is coming out of Detroit, a rebirth is happening. I continue to hear if only the big 3 would make ‘em we would buy ‘em. Meaning make something stylish, fuel efficient, and price comparable! Well that time has come, time to put up or shut up!

All the reviews coming out of the North American Auto about General Motors are hot hot hot! Seems the domestic autos has some hope. Now if we could only say the same for other sectors of the economy, such as textiles and electronics.

While Michigan leads the way in job losses Ohio is breathing right down Michigan’s neck! Ohio has lost the second most jobs under G.W. Bush but yet they continue to carry Republicans for presidents? Ohio is has a net job growth after the 2001 recession ended with a -50,000 job loss. That negative 50,000 was due to losing 136,000 manufacturing jobs(15% of the states manufacturing jobs), but hey, G.W. Bush continues to state what great things the global economy is doing for us.

Go on Ohioians keep voting for them Republicans if your goal is too lose another 50,000 jobs. G.W. Bush gave you a negative 50,000 jobs in 6 years maybe the next idiot you support with cause you to lose another 50,000.

Durable goods rose just .1% for the month of November. First I would like to ask is there still durable goods made in the US or does that report include durable goods produced by American companies in over seas plants? I think only made in the US and that might explain why durable goods are down! Still for November to be down a big shopping month is pathetic. Stocks plummet again, down almost 200 points. 2008 continues to look bleak. Bush gave us 5 trillion and tax cuts to give us a recession? Wth? Bush is triple double loser! The US head toward recession and China continues to grow at 12%, hmmmmm.

Workers in three Alabama plants got their Christmas bonuses and they weren’t very good. Their bonus was their plants are shutting down due to cheap foreign labor. These three plants join another plant that closed earlier bringing the total to 4. American textile is going to be a thing of the past, gone along the way of the American made television and electronics. Woohoo Americans saved some bucks to put 1300 American workers out of work thats quite a trade off!

I thought they were the promised land. I thought thats where everything was peaches and cream. I thought that is where Michiganders, Ohioans, New Yorkers went when G.W. Bush and the Republican Party allowed nearly 5 million jobs go over seas with China entering the World Trade Organization in 2001 (yes I do realize Clinton signed NAFTA) and numerous other places sucking up the American dream with cheap and some times slave labor. I thought the Carolinas were invincible to the disparity that the rust belt has been suffering with for the last 6 years. Could I have been wrong? Could the Carolinas now be realizing their manufacturing jobs are leaving too? I mean manufacturing is the bread and butter of both North Carolina and South Carolina just as it is in the Rust belt. Have the Carolinas realized what a total joke Bush is spitting all over the American worker and their families too? Well maybe, just maybe they don’t want all their jobs sent over seas either. Job losses hurt more than just the rust belt uh? The Carolina are too busy for bible thumpers than voting people to govern. Now the knife is sticking in their heart they might get a clue and let Church deal with religion and realize the separation of church and state is a decent philosophy after all.

This might be partly why I don’t buy all the hoopla of GM making crappy cars. Lansing GM plants have long been some of the high quality cars made. My family never had any troubles with the Oldsmobile’s that came out of Lansing.

Any ways the Cadillac CTS is made at GM’s Lansing Grand River Plant Assembly (That’s Michigan) and the car is one sharp cookie! This is head to head competition with the foreigners. This car along with the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu proves GM is back and ready for their car market back. Frankly with the quality at a all time high, warranty, style, American Made by an American company that the CTS is ready for some of these people who say to the Big 3 “Build it and we’ll buy it” Meaning make something we would like to buy and we will buy it, to actually buy it.

After 7 yrs of Bush’s tax cuts to the rich, encouraging outsourcing and 5 trillion in debt what does the United States have to show for it? A economy teetering on the edge of recession. For years I been hearing the Bush camp tell the American people the United States Economy is strong and healthy! Now Bush is not only hurting the manufacturing belt a.k.a. the rust belt but the whole country is now on the verge of a recession. The rest of the country is gonna get a little taste of what the rust belt has been dealing with for years. You see in states like Michigan (especially Michigan), Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania and New York we already been living the Bush dream. Manufacturing after manufacturing jobs already left this region for China with blessings from Bush who never quits beating the outsourcing is good drum.

Finally a national out look. I get tired of hearing how Michigan is the only state in trouble. Now the whole country is in trouble. While the United States may skirt a full blown recession it still shows how weak the United States economy really is with recession on the radar. Even after 7 years and 5 trillion in debt we really haven’t got much for our buck I am afraid.

I do realize the housing fiasco is not helping but if the United States economy was as strong as G.W. Bush says shouldn’t the economy have absorbed that up with no problems? Also if the economy was so strong couldn’t people just go get a part time second job. I guess you could if jobs were as plentiful as the Bush Administration would like you to believe they are.

To other countries as well. Due to contaminated tooth paste, pet food, toys and other lead containing items the atmosphere has been to not buy things made in China. While I agree whole heartedly that we should not be buying these items and allowing US manufactures to manufacture there and then ship also known as outsourcing we need to focus on a much larger picture.

While China may be the “biggest culprit” they surely are not the only culprit. Automobiles coming from Japan and clothes from Vietnam and Honduras are just as damaging to the American economy and way of life. The influx of these products from any country must stop. While the anti Made in China movement is a good thing lets not lose focus to what the real goals are. The main goal to me should be a anti Made in Someplace Else movement, from the mini van made in Japan to the socks made in Honduras. Its all bad. All of it drains our money out of the US.

Made in USA is the way~!

Ok now let kick some serious rice ride ass! Retiree health care now in the hand of the UAW and off GM’s books and it appears job security was won for the UAW as well. Lets hope this deal works for American Workers! GM says this deal will provide continued and renewed investments in America! Woohoo! You got to love investments in America!

Once again people, PLEASE at least look for Made in USA. Doesn’t hurt ya to at least weigh the options of Made in USA vs God knows where made. What have you got to loose? You could be pleasantly surprised.
